LINCOLN â€” Fielding phone calls, requests and inquiries from collegiate softball coaches are nothing new to Mark and Marie Mayer, the parents of Lindsay Mayer, Lincoln High's magnificent junior shortstop.
They actually started during her eighth-grade year; that's when University of South Florida head coach Ken Erikson asked Mark and Marie if they would bring their daughter to the Tampa campus so they could meet.
CUMBERLAND- Thelma (Sidebotham) Chadwick, 89, of Boardman Avenue died Friday, March 16, 2012 at Greenwood Care and Rehabilitation Center, Warwick. She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick L. Chadwick to whom she was married for 49 years.
Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Herbert and Ethel (Worthington) Sidebotham, she had lived in Pawtucket before moving to Cumberland 54 years ago. She was the sister of the late Calvin Sidebotham.
PAWTUCKET- Mary Kania 95, formerly of Capital Street passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the Grandview Center in Cumberland. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Kania.
Born in Suffield, Ct she was a daughter of the late Albert and Bertha (Godek) Wolowicz. She lived in Pawtucket for 60 years and was formerly of Central Falls.
Before retiring Mrs. Kania was employed as a Winder at the former Sidney Blumenthal Textile Co. for many years and later worked for Owens-Corning Fiberglass and Fram Corp. as an Assembler.
