Junior Lauren Gaj and sophomore Rybecca Gonzalez teamed up to score 30 points and help the Saints give a strong showing on the boards that paved the way for a key 52-44 triumph over red-hot Lincoln on Wednesday night at the Saintsâ€™ Alumni Hall.
WARWICK â€“ Things were not looking good for Cumberland High three matches into its regular season finale against defending state team tourney champion Warwick Veterans on Wednesday evening.
The Clippers, seeking their 57th consecutive dual-meet victory and third straight unbeaten season, trailed Warwick Vets 15-0. Cumberland needed to make something happen in a hurry and Nick Tribelli answered the call with a stunning pin at 126 pounds.
â€śOnce we got that win from Nick, I knew we had a shot,â€ť Cumberland coach Steve Gordon said after his Clippers rallied for a 44-29 triumph.
PAWTUCKET â€” The city employees' largest union, Council 94, AFSCME Local 1012 has won two jobs back through arbitration that had been lost last year through lay-offs. However, a broader attempt to have the city rescind 18 lay-offs and provide back pay and benefits to the affected employees was not supported by the arbitrator.

PAWTUCKET- Natalia J. Zeferino, "J" 42, passed February 12th.
Born in Praia, Cape Verde, on Christmas Day, a daughter of Verissimo Zeferino and the late Zulmira Fontes.
She been previously been employed as a Dry Cleaner and for Interpack Fabricators for several years.
She is survived by a son, Manuel DeBurgo and a daughter, Sandy DeBurgo,
Five brothers, Tony, John, Jose, Carlos and Libertino Zeferino, two sisters, Lucinda Witt and Elisa Zeferino and 4 grandchildren, Lavon, Jayvon, Camron and Caralyse DeBurgo.
Alice B. Kulig
CENTRAL FALLS- Alice B. Kulig, 92, of Cross Street, passed away on Tuesday at Hopkins Manor in No. Providence after an illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Walter Kulig.
Alice was born in Pawtucket a daughter of the late Walter and Sophie (Dzialozska) Bobola and lived most of her life in Central Falls. She had been employed as a weaver in the local textile industry for many years.
PAWTUCKET: Isabelle Pouliot, 86, of Buffum St, passed February 13th. She was the wife of the late Gerard J. Pouliot Sr.
She is survived by 3 sons, Gerard Pouliot Jr, Donald and Joseph Pouliot, 5 daughters, Theresa Jordan, Linda Keough, Diane Melanson, Kathleen Pedro and Lori-Ann Pouliot, 22 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Pearl Martin.
