PAWTUCKET â€” With a long line down High Street and a roomful of people inside, the Salvation Army â€śelvesâ€ť were kept busy on Thursday handing out bags of food. Capt. Persida Sanclemente expected the scene to be much the same on Friday, when the annual holiday toy distribution takes place.
Edward R. Marsland
CUMBERLAND - Edward R. Marsland, 82, of Cumberland, died Tuesday at home. He was the husband of Doris M. (Horsfield) Marsland. They had been married 60 years.
Born in Cumberland, he was the son of the late George R. and Lillian (Fogg) Marsland.
Mr. Marsland had been employed as a machinist-foreman for Standard Nut & Bolt Company. He later worked in the custodial department for the Cumberland School System. He was a Korean War Navy Veteran.
Robert L. Allen
SEEKONK - Allen, Robert L., 94, husband, for 63 years, of the late Irma V. (Inman), passed away on Dec. 19'th.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Frederic W. and Ada A. (Thompson) Allen. Mr. Allen had formerly resided in Seekonk and Limington, ME. He worked as a quality Controll Inspector and was owner of the Little Rhody Vending Co. He was Past Master of the Netop Lodge of Masons, now Eastern Star Lodge and was a member of the Seekonk Blood Program.
