PAWTUCKET â Kyle Weiland did more than raise a curious eyebrow. The right-handed pitcher began besieging Notre Dame pitching coach Sherard Clinkscales with a series of self-doubting questions stemming from his mound troubles surfacing during his 2007 sophomore season.

LINCOLN - Eugene J. "Gene" Bedard, 87, of Lincoln, died Wednesday at Home & Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the husband of Therese M. (Berard) Bedard. They had been married 65 years. Together Gene and Terry founded Lincoln Funeral Home in 1959.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary May (Walker) Bedard and the stepson of Claudine (Sublon) Tellier Bedard.
CUMBERLAND - Maria (Loureiro) Albuquerque, 92 of Heroux Blvd., died Friday at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Antero Albuquerque.
Born in Esmolfe, Portugal she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Barbosa) Loureiro. She came to this country in 1948 settling in Cumberland and moving to Central Falls in 1954 and returning to Cumberland in 2004.
She was employed at various area textile mills for many years until her retirement.
EAST PROVIDENCE â In a 3-2 decision at its last meeting, the East Providence School Committee voted to continue the paid administrative leave of Schools Supt. Mario Cirillo. The committee then voted unanimously to send a ânotice of non-renewalâ to Cirillo for the fourth year of his contract.
While parents, teachers and peers expressed support for Cirillo and asked the school committee to rescind its decision, School Committee Chairman Charles Tsonos and committee members Stephen Furtado and Ryan Tellier remained steadfast in their decision.

CENTRAL FALLS â Central Falls City Councilor Richard G. Aubin, Jr. was arrested Wednesday for allegedly selling vehicles belonging to the police department and keeping the proceeds.
