PAWTUCKET – Without hesitation, Kyle Weiland knew that if an opposing hitter’s fly ball to center field could be caught, it would.
Che-Hsuan Lin is that reliable.
But when Weiland began the 2011 season with Triple-A Pawtucket, the right-hander was separated from his security blanket, the vacuum cleaner of an outfielder he had played with since 2009.
Much to Weiland’s delight, they were reunited May 21, when Lin was promoted to Pawtucket from Double-A Portland.

Tolman earns second chance at Prout

PAWTUCKET --- Tolman High and Narragansett High’s pitching staffs looked every bit like they were working in their third playoff game in as many days on Friday afternoon.
Not only did both sides combine to use eight pitchers, but they also issued a whopping 27 walks, and that helped make their Division II losers’ bracket game a marathon affair that lasted 2 hours and 40 minutes.
