CENTRAL FALLS - Miriam Soto, 60, formerly of Central Falls, passed into eternal rest in Orlando Florida on March 14. She was the wife of Jose Soto.
Besides her husband she leaves 4 sons, Jose and Raul Soto of Pawtucket and Juan and Alberto Soto of Central Falls and a daughter, Evelyn Soto of Florida, 18 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. She also leaves 11 other siblings, mostly in Puerto Rico.

CRANSTON - Reverend Joseph P. Heaney, 90, Pastor Emeritus of St. Mark Church in Cranston, Rhode Island, died on March 17, 2011.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Joseph A. and Mary (Nealin) Heaney, he attended Central Avenue Grammar School, Goff Junior High School and Pawtucket East High School in Pawtucket.

CENTRAL FALLS: Jeannette E. Raymond 81, formerly of Liberty St, passed March 18th with her loving husband Bernard by her side; they have been married for 58 years.
Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Aurelle and Jean
LaPierre. She was a lifelong Central Falls resident and longtime Communicant of Holy Spirit Parish (St Matthew Church).
She had been employed by Hord Tool and Dye as a production manager for many years retiring in 1992.

CUMBERLAND - Joseph Bradley, 72, of Cumberland, died Thursday at Oakland Grove Health & Rehabilitation Ctr., Woonsocket. Born in Cumberland, he was a son of the late John C. and Flora A. (Diparthy) Bradley.
Mr. Bradley was a farmer at Bradley Farm in Cumberland all of his life. He is survived by his sister Eileen Couturier of Cumberland and nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late George and John Bradley, Margaret Peggy Vanasse and Rosemarie Kieffer. A graveside interment service will be held on Saturday (today) at 2:00 pm at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.

Guilty verdict in the Williams trial

PROVIDENCE -- Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin announces a guilty verdict in the trial of Antone Williams.
Williams, formerly of Pawtucket, was found guilty Thursday by a Providence County Superior Court jury of assault with a dangerous weapon, commission of a crime of violence with a firearm, carrying a pistol without a license and firing into a crowded area. The jury’s verdict concluded a three-day trial presided over by Superior Court Justice Robert D. Krause.

Gist holds education forum in Lincoln

LINCOLN – For a little over an hour Wednesday night, Rhode Island Commissioner of Education Deborah Gist fielded queries from parents, teachers, Town Council and School Committee members and others about the status of education in town and beyond.
Before that, however, she spent approximately 30 minutes discussing how the Lincoln School District stacked up against others statewide, and how Rhode Island's test scores relate to those nationally and internationally.
