CUMBERLAND - Phyllis A. Mascio, 72, of Sleepy Hollow Drive died Thursday, January 20, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Richard J. Mascio, Sr.
Born in New York City, NY, a daughter of the late Olga Lubinsky, she had lived in Cumberland for most of her life.

Seekonk - Alice Camilla(Petersen) Soule, 86, of Seekonk, MA died Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. The beloved wife of William N. Soule, they were married for 64 years.
Daughter of the late Ida May & Hans Eric Petersen, she lived in Seekonk for 80 years,attended Seekonk schools and graduated from Pawtucket East High School with honors in 1942. She worked as a bookkeeper for Hope Webbing, The Peerless Co, and Attleboro Dye & Finishing and for seven years volunteered as the coordinator of the Share Food Program.
CENTRAL FALLS â There was a buzz in the stands on Thursday night as Central Falls fans awaited the start of a Division II crossover game matching their North Division-leading Warriors with a 7-2 Tiverton team that is tied for first place in the East.
The Tigers quickly quieted the local crowd by storming out to a 23-5 lead midway through the first half en route to an 80-64 triumph.
âTheyâre good,â C.F. coach Brian Crookes conceded after the game. âI would put them up there with Rogers, West Warwick and Barrington as the best teams we have seen this season.â
LINCOLN â Even now, the portable rental marquee sign sitting in the snow outside the Christ Church Parish House reads, in part, âChristmas joy continues.â
âWe haven't been able to change it because of the weather, the way it's been,â chuckled Rev. Scott Gunn, the Episcopal church's rector for over three years now.
Fact is, neither Gunn nor his parishioners have had much to celebrate lately. Due to serious financial hardships, he has asked his congregation to vote on Jan 30 to accept a merger with Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Cumberland Hill.
Mary E. McCloskey
SEEKONK - Mary E. McCloskey, 50 formerly of Seekonk died Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Rhode Island Hospital.
She was born in Attleboro a daughter of Kenneth F. McCloskey of Rehoboth and Maureen T. (Foley) McCloskey of Seekonk.
Mary was a 1978 graduate of Bishop Feehan High School.
Besides her parents she leaves two sisters, Patricia Cabral and her husband David of Seekonk, Jane Vivert and her husband Thomas of Florida, one brother, Kenneth P. McCloskey and his wife Tracey of Riverside and five nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

CUMBERLAND: Agostinho Duarte, 92, passed peacefully on January 19th.
He was the husband of Irene Duarte, they have been married for 65 years.
Born in Vila Ruiva, Fornos de Algodres, Guarda Portugal, He had been employed as a backhoe operator for Valley Gas for over 30 years.
He was the father of the late Odete Furtado.
PAWTUCKET: Alicia Mejia, entered into eternal rest on January 19, 2011 at the Evergreen Nursing Center.
Born in Colombia, she came to the United States in 1983 and made her home in Pawtucket.
WOONSOCKET â High school basketball coaches have a lot in common with teachers who send their students through rigorous courses like physics or chemistry. Hoop mentors must stand on the sidelines, trying to explain the finer points of their sport, while players try to absorb those lessons in the midst of competition.
East Providenceâs Alex Butler and Woonsocketâs Kyle Ivey-Jones did their best to educate their players on Wednesday night when the Townies visited the Villa Novans for a battle between two sub-.500 Division I teams.
CUMBERLAND - Adelia Miguel, 84, formerly of Hilltop Road, passed away Tuesday in the St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Joaquim Miguel. Born in Cabra-Gouveia, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Francisco and Carlota (deJesus) Ferreira.
She moved to this country in 1952, settling in Cumberland.
She leaves her beloved son, Antonio Miguel, and his wife Deborah of Cumberland; granddaughter Jill Teixeira, two great-granddaughters, Joy and Hope Teixeira, all of Cumberland; sister, Racquel Freitas of Brazil.
Marie B. Bouchard
CUMBERLAND: Marie B. Bouchard (Lavallee), 50, passed away Tuesday peacefully, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on February 17, 1960, in Central Falls, the daughter of Mary (Vasques) Lavallee and the late Rolland A. Lavallee.
Arthur E. Huard
LINCOLN Arthur E. "Chuck" Huard, 61, of River Road, passed into eternal rest on Tuesday surrounded by his family after a two year battle with brain cancer. He was the devoted husband of Denise M. (Syvester) Huard and had been married for 42 years.
Theresa M. Harrold
Theresa M. Harrold, 78, of Williston Way, Pawtucket died Wednesday, January 19, 2011. She was the wife of the late Joseph V. Harrold Sr.
Mrs. Harrold was born in Pawtucket the daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie (Goodreau) McKenna. She graduated from St. Xaviers Academy in Providence.

PAWTUCKET â A fire that ignited Monday evening caused substantial damage to a greenhouse belonging to Imondi & Sons Florist at 182 Smithfield Ave.
According to Fire Capt. Steven Parent, the shop had closed for business at 5 p.m. and the fire alarm came in at around 6 p.m. The blaze apparently started in a wood frame greenhouse, one of two greenhouses that are connected to a showroom. He said the heat caused the greenhouse panels to melt but the showroom and remaining metal frame greenhouse remained intact.

SOUTH ATTLEBORO - Edward L. Scullin, 84, of South Attleboro, passed away at home on Monday, January 17, 2011. He was the beloved husband of the late Yvonne L. (Lavallee) Scullin.
Roland J. Allard
PAWTUCKET - Roland J. Allard, 80, passed away Monday, January 17, 2011. He was the beloved husband of the late Irene M. (Kelly) Allard.
A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Roland J., Sr. and Callie (Donaldson) Allard. Roland was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran. He was a driver for Bachman Foods, Lincoln for thirty years until retiring in 1991. Roland was a member of St. Teresa's Seniors and a life member of the Dusza-Almeida VFW Post No. 2339, Pawtucket.
LINCOLN - Michelle Kilsey, 59 of Lincoln, entered into eternal rest on January 17, 2011 after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family.
Michelle graduated with highest honors from Notre Dame High School in 1969. She was employed by Corning Glass Works and American Cord and Webbing as a secretary before joining her husband in the video rental business in 1983.
