PAWTUCKET â€” In a move that took many neighbors and even some local officials by surprise, the owner of a vacant manufacturing building on Roosevelt Avenue has sought a special permit so the property can be used as a charter middle school that would be part of the Blackstone Valley Prep organization.
On Monday, a public hearing was held by the city's Zoning Board of Appeals for applicant Julian P. Forgue's request for a Special Use Permit for the property he owns at 1135 Roosevelt Ave to be used as a secondary/elementary school.

CUMBERLAND - George T. Fortin, Jr., 82 of Cumberland died Sunday at the Miriam Hospital in Providence. He is the husband of the late Gertrude Forcier. Born in Pawtucket he was the son of the late George and Alice (Blais) Fortin. George lived in Florida for 30 years prior to moving to Cumberland 4 years ago.
He was a Pharmacist and owner of Forcier's Pharmacy in Pawtucket for 34 years until his retirement in 1969.

LINCOLN - Mary J. (Sacchetti) Wagner, 84, of Lincoln, RI passed away into the arms of our Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at her home with her family, after a long illness.
John P. Duffin Jr.
CENTRAL FALLS - John P. Duffin Jr. 67, of Jenks Avenue passed away Monday November 28, 2011 at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Pawtucket he was the beloved son of the late John P. and Sophie A. (Rzepiela) Duffin Sr. He lived in Central Falls for the past 22 years and was formerly of Pawtucket.
John was a self employed Mason and also owned and operated several local businesses.

PAWTUCKET - Lionel "Uncle Pint" E. Roy, 96, of Celebration, Florida, formerly of Pawtucket, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2011. He was the beloved husband of the late Stella M. (Lemieux) Roy.
Eric J. Boynton
NORTH PROVIDENCE - Eric J. Boynton, 30, of Cassisi Street, died unexpectedly Saturday, November 26.
Born in Brockton, MA, he was the son of Nancy (Beekes) Boynton of North Providence and Bradford Boynton, of Brockton.
He was a waiter at Chili's Restaurant, West Bridgewater, MA, a 2001 graduate of Lincoln High School, and a communicant of St. Anthony Church, North Providence.
