PAWTUCKET - Rene Bobola, 86 of Pawtucket died on Dec. 27, 2010 from complications of a stroke in Miriam Hospital, Providence. He had been a resident of Pawtucket most of his life. Prior to retirement in 1949, he was employed as an electrician for approximately 20 years.
Roland L. Gaboriault
CENTRAL FALLS - Roland L. Gaboriault, 81 of the Wilfred Manor in Central Falls died at Home & Hospice Care of RI. He was the husband of the late Marie E. (Bouvier) Gaboriault. Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Ezechias and Della (Nolan)Gaboriault, he had resided there for many years. He was a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church where he was a member of the Men's Club.
CUMBERLAND - Hope (Hedberg) Gale, 99, of Newell Drive died December 28th at St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Frank H. Gale. Born on April 6, 1911 in Woonsocket, the first child of the late Lars Walfrid and Caroline Elizabeth (Johnson) Hedberg, she had been a resident of Cumberland for many years.
Eileen M. Paquin
PAWTUCKET - Eileen M. (Cardoza) Paquin 67, a lifelong Pawtucket resident passed away in Orlando, Florida on December 17, 2010. She was the beloved wife for 49 years of Ernest H. Paquin.
Born in Pawtucket, the daughter of the late James and Ida (Deschenes) Cardoza. Mrs Paquin, who loved to travel worked for The Union Wadding Co. (Pawtucket) for many years.
High school basketball coaches donât have any room to breathe when it comes to game conditions. They share their workplace with spectators. Their instructions to players, or complaints to referees running past them, can often be heard by the fans.
PAWTUCKET â Jeanne (Rice) Murphy, who died last Thursday at age 84, had a career unlike almost any other reporter at the old Pawtucket Times.
Murphy first began working for the newspaper as a high school intern back in 1944.
âThe newsroom had been decimated by World War II,â Jeanneâs daughter Sheila recalled. âThe managing editor liked the way my mother wrote and offered her a job.â
