PAWTUCKET - Dolores M. Gregoire, 73 of Pawtucket died Tuesday at the Bethany Home in Providence. She was the wife of the late Robert A. Gregoire. Born in Pawtucket and a lifelong resident of the city, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Lillian (Cote) Ledoux. She was a communicant of St. Leo the Great Church, and very devoted to her family and friends.

Brooks leads Providence past Northeastern

PROVIDENCE — Marshon Brooks has never been accused of being shy with the basketball. Yet in order for him to complete player in the eyes of Keno Davis, the Providence College senior had to show a serious commitment to rebounding the basketball.
Brooks delivered another banner night scoring-wise, notching a season-best 27 points as PC held off visiting Northeastern, 77-72, Wednesday night before yet another sparse gathering of 4,828 at The Dunk. Just as important were the eight rebounds Brooks snatched, as he came close to matching his season average (8.7).

Tolman vs. Woonsocket: What a duel this will be!

CUMBERLAND - Pauline Bruneau-O'Hara (Marcotte), 75, of 238 Ann St. died Monday in the Miriam Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of Wilfred O'Hara Sr.
Born in Bellingham she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Aurore (Barrette) Marcotte. She resided in Cumberland for the past 36 years.
Mrs. O'Hara was an avid bingo player

PAWTUCKET:Russell Wilson, 61, of Thomas Ave, passed unexpectedly on November 24, 2010.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of Jeannette (Kishfy) Beaton of Central Falls and the late Clinton Wilson.
He was the proprietor of Russell's Construction for many years.
Besides his mother he is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Campbell, a son, Chad White, both of California, three sisters, Janet Cross, Linda Wilson both of Cumberland and Brenda Martel of Lincoln, a brother, James Beaton of Pawtucket, two granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.

BURRILLVILLE - Ethel M. (Carr) Shaw, 86, died Wednesday November 24, 2010 in Overlook Nursing Home, Pascoag. Wife of the late Alfred Shaw. Born in Central Falls she was the daughter of the late Louis L and Elsie (Montgomery) Carr.
She is survived by a daughter Linda L. Rondeau and her husband Russell of Burrillville, two grandchildren and four nieces. She was the sister of the late Robert Carr.

PAWTUCKET:Pauline E. Buco, 83, of Beverage Hill Ave, passed away on November 27, 2010. She was the wife of the late James Buco.
Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Lena Provost.
Pauline had been employed by AT&T for over 44 years before retiring. She was a Communicant of St. Teresa Church and a member of the AT&T Pioneers.

PAWTUCKET — In the end, Tuesday night's Division II semifinal playoff game between Tolman and St. Raphael Academy came down to a few gridiron standbys – halftime adjustments, plays that just missed connecting, and which team wanted it more.
Tolman made the necessary adjustments, St. Raphael dropped a crucial touchdown pass, and the top-seeded Tigers, who trailed 12-7 at halftime, reached deep down within themselves to outlast a courageous Saints team, 25-12, before an estimated crowd of 1,200 fans at Max Read Field.

Quakers silence Lions, 21-0, in D-III semis

PROVIDENCE — During the league season last month, Lincoln High had its way with Moses Brown and handed its Division III foe its first loss of the fall.
Let’s just say the Quakers took that defeat personal.
In the more-important rematch between the two squads — a semifinal tilt on Tuesday night — Moses Brown returned the favor with a convincing 21-0 blanking of the Lions at Brown University’s Berylson Field.
