Epsom, N.H. - Francis Charles Murray (Frank), 83, died Monday, November 8, 2010 at home in Epsom, New Hampshire following a long illness. He was born January 28, 1927, in Pawtucket, RI to the late Herbert and Rose (Reynolds) Murray. He spent many years in his hometown of Pawtucket and then moved to Epsom, New Hampshire in 1996.

PAWTUCKET – West Warwick almost pulled off the upset heard around Division III on Tuesday night, taking a 2-1 lead into the final two minutes of the second overtime before St. Raphael Academy’s Kytresa Ivey-Jones scored the goal of her young life, tying the contest and sending it into a shootout that the Saints won, 4-2, on a clinching goal by freshman Trina Lomba.

LINCOLN – You could say the elements helped even the playing field between Lincoln and North Smithfield. With a steady rain sweeping across Chet Nichols Field, Tuesday’s Division II quarterfinal match became a matter of survival.
Thanks to two goals in the final nine minutes, the Lions emerged from this mud bath with a 2-0 victory over the Northmen, who played the game minus the services of head coach Steve DeMeo. DeMeo was relived of his coaching duties after Monday’s arrest for allegedly transmitting inappropriate messages to a minor.

Hazen discusses PawSox managerial vacancy

Boston Red Sox director of player development Mike Hazen confirmed Tuesday that the process to find Pawtucket’s next manager is already under way. The vacancy was created when Torey Lovullo left to become Toronto’s first base coach on Monday.
“We’ve already started to put together a list,” Hazen said via cell phone. “Certainly within the list you have to stay somewhat flexible because of (potential coaching shifts at the major league level). As a result more candidates could become available as those situations play out.”

Twin River emerges from bankruptcy

LINCOLN — Some 17 months after filing for bankruptcy protection, the Twin River gaming facility and its new owners announced Tuesday that they have successfully emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation and the Department of Revenue, Division of Lotteries have issued the final necessary approvals, and documents announcing the company's emergence from bankruptcy have been filed with the bankruptcy court, according to a press release.
